5. National Level Initiatives:
5.1.Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has invited IACP in various national and regional consultations. Prof. Malavika Kapur, President of IACP and Prof. L.S.S. Manickam, Secretary attended the Southern consultations, Prof. Manju Mehta, President- Elect attended the Northern consultations. We appreciate all the concerned for inclusion of IACP in the discussions and including clinical psychologists in the ‘Mental Health Act’. Our suggestion to change the title of the act was also heard and it is changed to Mental Health Care Act. We have also been invited to participate in the discussions on formulating policies related to National Mental Health Program and in developing training modules for International Classification of Functioning. We need to continue the same zeal in working closely with the concerned ministries to make our voices heard.
5.2. The secretary has written to the Rehabilitation Council of India regarding the certification issues raised by the members of the Association and regarding the one year course in clinical psychology and their responses is awaited.

6. IACP Andhra Pradesh Region: The formation of IACP AP region was approved on May 14, 2010. Congratulating all the members of the region, especially Mr. Venkata Subbiah, South Zone representative in the EC who took initiative in coordinating all the members from the region.

7. Initiating more regional branches: Due to constraints in time and the distance some of the existing state level branches are not functioning effectively. The state level branches that were once affiliated with the national association are defunct. Efforts to revive the units at Rajasthan, UP (erstwhile larger UP), Karnataka and Delhi has not yielded results. Therefore more local branches have to start functioning in more areas where members could meet frequently and discuss academic as well as professional issues.

8. Meeting of the minds: The IACP Mysore region in association with All India Speech and Hearing chalked out a program for training the young faculty members in clinical psychology training centers and it was called off, as there was no adequate takers for it.

9. News and Views: It was decided to stop the publication of the e-News letter ‘News and Views’ since we are able to communicate the news through our e-groups of professional members and associate members. Currently we have the email IDs of 559 members.

10. 37th NACIACP-2011: Our National Annual Conference is being held from January, 21-23, 2011 at Gujarat State Forensic University Ahmedabad with the theme, “Clinical Forensic Psychology: An emerging Scientific Discipline”. 220 delegates registered for the conference.
