Announcement of the awards committee 2010-11.


As the chairman of the award committee, it is my privilege to call for nominations for the awards of IACP. I am grateful to the members of the award committee for the inputs in formulating the guidelines for the awards and orations. You can find the full details of the awards/orations and the guidelines for each of them on our website http://www.iacp.in/


Kindly go through this communication and nominate a member of the association for the awards/orations for consideration. I would very much appreciate your participation in nominating the deserving members for the awards/orations.


The awards committee of the Indian Association of clinical Psychologists invites nomination for the oration/award mentioned as under for the year 2010-11 The nominations has to be proposed by a fellow of the association. Name of any member of the IACP can be proposed. The proposal in the attached format with the consent of the person proposed has to reach the chairman, awards committee before 30th of June, 2010.


1. Kang Oration.

2. Hosur Narayana Murthy oration.

3. Psycho Award.


A brief rule for the submission of the proposal is given below.

Rules for nomination of Oration /Awards

1. Any Fellow of the IACP can propose the name of any member of the IACP for the oration/award. The proposal of any distinguished psychologist may be submitted to the Chairperson of the Awards Committee by 30th June, 2010

2. The proposal should contain curriculum vitae of the person proposed for the award with the consent of the person proposed for the award.

3. The Awards Committee shall rate the nominations based on the rules for each award.

The nomination securing the highest total points (out of 100) shall be selected for the award, subject to the ratification by the Executive Council of the IACP.

4. The oration papers will become the property of the IACP and shall be published in the Indian Journal of Clinical Psychology (IJCP) subject to editorial corrections, if necessary. The awardees shall submit the full paper of the oration to the Editor, IJCP, immediately after the oration at the National Annual Conference for its publication.

5. The awardees may choose any topic for the oration. The awardees shall intimate the title of the oration to the chairperson of the Awards Committee at least one month prior to the conference.

6. The awardees shall be presented a scroll/certificate along with a monetary award wherever applicable, as per the terms of the institution of the award.

7. No member shall be conferred the same award a second time.

8. The names proposed for an award, shall not be considered for any other award for that year

Rules for Awards that require submission of papers and presentations.

SC Gupta Young Scientist Award (Papers presented in the scientific sessions).

1. Five copies of the full paper shall be enclosed with the abstracts with the author information written in separate sheet shall be submitted to the Chairman of the Awards Committee. The abstract should reach before 30th Sept. and full paper by 30th Nov.10.

2. To be eligible for the award the paper must fulfill each of the following criteria.

(a) It must be a research paper based on work done in India.

(b) It must not have been published in a scientific Journal or had received any other award.

(c) The First author shall be an IACP member and at least 50% of all authors must be members of the IACP at the time of the proposal.

(d) The author presenting the paper must be a member of the association at the time of the proposal.

Those competing should give an undertaking to be present at the conference to present the paper.

N.N.Sen Award. (N.N.Sen award is given to the best published paper in the Indian Journal of Clinical Psychology in the preceding year during which the National Annual Conference in being held).
