Subject : Clinical psychology (Being Updated )
Question : What are your responsibilities in the field of clinical psychology. Do you just sit in a room and council clients or can you do field research also???
Answer : There is a wide range of opportunities available within the field of clinical psychology. Most clinical psychologists are involved in some type of assessment and / or treatment. (And there is much more to treatment than sitting in a room and counselling.) Many clinical psychologists, particularly those working in Universities or teaching hospitals also conduct research. The research is usually related to the psychologists area of clinical practice. So, those who specialize in treating anxiety disorders may also do research in the area of anxiety. Clinical psychologists can also be involved in teaching or training of future psychologists. It is not unusual for a clinical psychologist to be involved in all three - a clinical practice, research and teaching/training.
